Stormy weather

Noel came by this afternoon and she and my mom headed to BBB to return the daydreamer. It worked for Knox but we think he prefers being in the rock and play. Mom was also in search of a different bottle to help Knox with his reflux and she found the  coolest nipple for Medea bottles. It simulates a breast and makes the baby slow down and eat like he would from the breast. We think part of Knox's reflux stems from him literally guzzling my breastmilk from his bottle. He drinks so fast he ends up spitting most of it up. So far, this nipple has been an answer from above. We are going to give it one more full day before investing in more. Those suckers are expensive!

We did tummy time a few times today. I like both boys to get at least 5 minutes in before their feeds. I have to do it before or they will both spit up. Pierce once again rolled over. Knox surprised us and rolled over too! I was SO BUMMED that we weren't able to catch it on camera he only did it once but he did it!  Pierce also started holding his own bottle today. My kids are just like their mommy and daddy I guess - overachievers! ;)

The boys experienced their first thunderstorm today. Being the neurotic mother that I am, as soon as the storm rolled in, we had to move the babies from by the windows to the middle of the room with no windows near them.  My mom has scared me with her stories of lightening coming through people's houses and striking them. The boys had recently been fed and were sound asleep through the entire thing. The storm was bad. Our lights kept flickering on and off and the pounding of the rain against our solid wood door was deafening.

Nick was supposed to be at a presentation in Addison at 6:00 and was heading there right as the storm hit. He went out to his car but it wouldn't start and he got poured on as he was making his way back inside. I suggested he call uber to come get him. It was a 30 minute wait and by the time the guy picked him up it was a little bit after 5. I had heard on the news that there were multiple trees down and one had fallen right where Nick needed to go. He called me when he finally got to Addison and it took him an hour and 20 minutes to get there ( it should have been a 20 minute drive). Thankfully everyone was in the same predicament and the presentation was postponed for an hour so the remainder of people could arrive safely.

The presentation went really well and Nick didn't get home until pretty late. Mom and I in the meantime cooked up a pineapple chicken and rice casserole that she had bought at Celebrity bakery. It was delicious!  We fed and played with the boys and then rented the movie "The Fault in Our Stars". Holy moly what a tearjerker! We both enjoyed it.
