Whiney Wednesday

I honestly have no idea what is going on with my sweet little LPs, but they are struggling. Big time. Which means mommy is struggling even more. I have no idea where my happy little guys went. Don't get me wrong, they are still happy guys for the most part but they have been a lot more Whiney and cranky this week. They don't like it if I am out of their sight. Not even for a second. It's hard for me because I have so much to do. Between washing bottles, warming bottles, mashing baby food, trying to get laundry done, and changing them (the changing table is in our bedroom), there are times that I have to step away. This week, it's been a challenge. I hate hearing them cry and it's even worse because I know there is absolutely nothing wrong with them when they are crying. They are fed, dry and safe. As soon as they see me, they smile. I'm going to do some research because I vaguely remember reading something about separation anxiety at about this age.

Today was full of cuddles and very few naps. The LPs were a little restless with their toys. They weren't really having them today so we spent a lot of the day on the couch, snuggling. Whenever I did have to walk away to do something, they'd be ok for a few minutes and then it was full on tears. Poor babies.

After their 5 pm feed, I packed them up and took them for a walk. I ended up running into our neighbor, Tiffany and we chatted for a good 30+ minutes. She's going to let us borrow a toy to see if the boys like it. Hopefully the boys are big enough to use it!!!

Nick stayed at work to have a drink with his old boss so I flew solo with bedtime. The boys were exhausted and both went down pretty easily. I'm hoping and praying they sleep well tonight. Last night was a bit of a disaster. Knox woke up around 11:45 screaming and his screams woke Pierce up. Nick and I ended up feeding both of them. Knox woke up again at 1 and I changed his diaper and put him in bed with me. He ended up sleeping until 8! So here is to a better night for all or us!

Shots....again

Monday was our appointment for the LPs next round of shots. This completes our 6 month shot record and we are up to date until 9 months. Woo-hoo!!!

Our appointment was at 0800. We got up, got ready and we were actually on time!

Sweet P. Waiting at the office.

Knoxwell. Waiting at the office.

Uh-oh. Here they come....
Boo for shots. Makes mommy want to cry too.

Pierce handling it like a champ and sporting his cool band aide.
Knox needing some daddy snuggles afterwards.

The boys did well, as they always do, but had a little bit of a rough day. We had to stop at Wal Mart on our way home because the garage door was left open Sunday night and a TON of mosquitoes were in our garage. I had to pick up some mosquito repellent to "bomb" the garage with. We were in and out because it looked like it was about to pour!!!!

The LPs fell asleep in the car so I drove around until they woke up. We then went in and I fed them before playtime ensued.
We then headed to Cafe of Life because we were all in need of an adjustment.  The boys did great and Autumn said they both needed it!  I had a feeling they did!!!

We made it home before the rain and after about an hour and a half to two hours, they were getting super fussy. I tried to put them down but both of them screamed. They screamed at everything I did. I changed them, rocked them, put them in their bouncy seats then in their mama Roos. To no avail. They screamed.

When it was time to eat again, I breastfed them. Pierce took a short 15 min nap and Knox fell asleep eating. P started crying and as I went to put Knox down to pick Pierce up, Knox woke up SCREAMING. This happened twice. I too, was on the verge of tears. Ok. Let's be honest. I bawled my eyes out. I felt completely helpless. Nothing I did was helping. Absolutely nothing. I felt defeated.

In between crying sessions, I would get a few laughs and giggles and they revived me. I was feeling like a failure as a mother. All I wanted was for them to be happy ( and rested.) And it wasn't happening.  It was breaking my heart.

Bath time usually gets me some smiles. The boys outfits had left them filthy - there were so many fuzzies in between their toes and fingers! It was disgusting! So into the bath tub they went!! And boy did I get some smiles!!

Pierce man

Knox man

I got them both almost ready for bed before pure shrieking began. I got their bottles ready, gave them some Tylenol and fed them at 6:20. Definitely the earliest I've ever put them down at. Nick made it home shortly after I began feeding them and he helped continue the feed. Neither LP fell asleep while eating. Knox actually continued to scream and wouldn't let Nick put him down. Pierce fell asleep shortly after I laid him down. We eventually had to let Knox "cry it out". Horrible.

Luckily, they did well through the night. I am so thankful for that. Poor loves. So tired. Plus I had to work today (Tuesday)
I was baby nurse and we had 10 babies. Boy do my feet hurt!

Daddy got the boys ready and down for the night. He sent me these pics at work:

It's a process getting ready for bed. Nick does such a good job with them. It warms my heart!!!

Picture Day

Sunday we had our 6 month pictures with my good friend and coworker, Katie. Yes, I know we are a little older than that, but she wanted to take them when they were sitting up on their own. Unfortunately, we are not quite there but needed to get them taken!

The pictures were taken at a park in Richardson called, Praire Creek Park. It's a really cool area with lots of bridges and waterfalls. The perfect place to take all kinds of different pictures.

We had to warm up their bottles prior to pics so we stopped at a La Madeline. Pierce had been asleep for a while but Knox was fighting it. This made me a little nervous. I knew they both needed a good little nap before they were fussed over.....Nick got some hot water and away we went to meet Katie.

At the park, we fed the boys and started our session with a family picture. Normally we wait until the end and it's hard to get a good one. Not the case this time!

Then she shot the boys individual pictures.

Knox wasn't really into it but this one turned out pretty darn cute.

Pierce was a complete ham!!! He was so happy and smily! And of course he had to have his hand in his mouth 😉

I hope she got some more good ones. These are just the ones that she posted on Facebook. I'm anxious to see the rest!!!

We then headed home and played with the boys. It was stormy outside and everyone was a bit on the crabby/tired side. It was early to bed for all of us!

Girls weekend!

My sweet friend, Jill has been planning a girls weekend for us for quite a while. This was the weekend!

Friday night, Jill and my bestie, Heidi, came and picked me up. They also got to love on the boys.

We then headed to the Stoneleigh Hotel for some R&R. We had 3 more friends meeting us, plus we needed to get ready.

Dinner was first on the agenda. We had reservations at Lark on the Park - a restaurant right by Klyde Warren Park that has an awesome view of the city. Our sweet friend Susie met us there.

In the lobby of the Stoneleigh
From left to right: Kylie, Jill, Heidi, Kelsey, me and Andrea. (Missing Susie)

When we were seated, our waitress informed us that we had two complimentary bottles of champagne from Nick Job. That husband of mine - he spoils me rotten. He really can be quite thoughtful. And he is good at catching me off guard. Thank you Nick. You truly are amazing.

Cheers to Nick and girls night out!

After dinner we returned to the hotel and then walked across the street to a little bar where we hung out and enjoyed a few cocktails. Except for our preggo, Kelsey. She had her mock tails and I'm sure a few giggles watching all of us.

Around one, we headed back to the hotel and called it a night. I had to pump one more time and Kelsey ordered some cereal and a banana from room service! Oh how I remember how hungry I was when I was pregnant... I so wish I had gotten a pic! She was too cute!

I woke up at 6 with my left breast as hard as a rock. It was so incredibly painful. Jill, Heidi and I were sharing a bed. Jill got up to go potty and made me a warm compress while I had to massage my boob while I pumped. I am hoping and praying this doesn't mess with my supply. My left side is my side that produces more and I need the extra ounces it makes. I know I may be over sharing but please pray I continue to make what the LPs need. I really want to make it to a year breastfeeding them. Thanks!

By 8, we were all awake and talking - with most of us having a headache and in need of some breakfast!  We hit up my moms favorite breakfast joint, Dream Cafe, for a delicious brunch.

Dream Cafe

It was then time for a little pampering. We headed to Castle Nails to get manis and pedis!  The place was awesome and very accommodating. They didn't even bat an eye when I busted out my pump! I will be going back!

Getting pretty!

After out manis and pedis we did a little shopping around Mockingbird Station and then it was time to head home to our sweet little fam bams.

Mommy, where have you been??? We missed you!

Jill and Heidi helped feed the babies carrots and their bottles. Justin picked Heidi up and Jill headed home to her hubby and kiddos.

Nick and I packed up the boys and headed on a walk. We went to Weirs and looked at furniture. We then stopped by Crate and Barrel and Z Gallerie before eating dinner at On The Border. We fed the boys there, ate and headed to Starpower to look at sound systems for the new Job casa. Then it was back to the house!

It's officially official!!! SOLD

We bathed the boys and played with them for a while before getting them ready for bed. Oh how I love these sweet boys!

Off to dream land they went. We did bottles and then off to dream land we went too! Happy Saturday!

Five On Friday!

I haven't been a pink person in quite a while but apparently it is my new thing! Here is what I'm loving this week!

1.  I bought this necklace at Target earlier this week! It's so versatile and can spruce up any outfit!

2.  My mom (Tutu) bought me these rings as an early Mother's Day present and I love them. She wears the same two rings and I'm always reminded of her when I look at my hand!!!

3.  So I'm sure everyone heard about the Lily P craze at Target. Well I went Tuesday after work and these were laying on a shelf just for me! They are a tad too big but I'm going to have them taken in!

4.  I found this swimsuit cover up at Nordstrom Rack and it's too cute!

5. This tray was a gift from one of my best friends, Allison. I use it for the boys coconut oil and lavender bedtime routine and their paci's. It's a perfect catch all!

What are you loving this week?!?

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday...

Monday I spent the day loving on the LPs. I breastfed them most of the day and loved every minute of it!  I love looking down at them eating. I love how
Pierce grabs at my shirt and tries to cover his eyes and I love how Knox begins to cry when he is full. I love the little noises they make and their sighs of pure satisfaction.  They are both such different eaters and I enjoy the bonding time.

We went for about an hour long walk. They both napped so I kept on walking!

G2 came over Monday night to see the boys one more time before they head back to Utah. We played with the boys and then it was bedtime. We went through our routine and got them down.
Nick and Grandpa then grilled up some chicken while I made a salad and sweet potatoes. We sat down at the kitchen table and enjoyed a yummy dinner and great company. G2 then had to head back to Brent and Aubs.

Tuesday I worked and didn't get to see my nuggets 😔. It was a rough day at work too.  I was in triage which is not my favorite place to work, and we have a new computer system that we are all still trying to work out the kinks with. It's time consuming and I feel like I pay more attention to my computer than to my patient. I hope and pray that this is not what nursing is coming to.

Tuesday night was rough for little Knox. He has been rolling over onto his belly and wakes up crying in the middle of the night multiple times. Last night I flipped him over 4 times and had to replace his paci. Around 3:45 he woke up screaming so I breastfed him back to sleep. He slept until nearly 8. Pierce on the other hand was up at 7!  He is pretty consistent when it comes to sleeping and waking. (knock on wood!)

Wednesday morning the LPs ate their morning bottle and then I spent the morning loving on them, playing with them and breastfeeding them!

We then went to get adjusted at the chiropractor and we ran into my friend and co worker, Kelsey! She is pregnant with a baby boy named Whitten. We visited while we waited for Autumn and then headed home.

The boys were fighting their sleep BIG TIME and finally went out in their mama Roos.
Out like lights!

The LPs ate again and then my sweet friend, Whitney stopped by. She is such a precious friend. She played with the boys and we quickly caught up on our busy lives. I hope she and her husband, Jeff will come visit us when we are in the burbs!

Playing in our exercaucers!

As soon as Whit left, both boys were catching some zzzz's again.

The LPs breastfed again! Yay !!! It made this mommys day! Then we played for a while before I saw then getting sleepy again.  Back to their mama Roos they went. Knox passed out almost immediately. Pierce on the other hand, screamed. I took him out and held him and tried patting him to sleep. No go. So we played until Knox woke up.

Tummy time was had by all. Unfortunately Pierce was tired and not into it at all! Knox held his own and laid on his belly for a good 30 minutes.
Pre tummy time giggles

Nick had to work late so it was all mommy for bedtime. We did our routine and off to dreamland they went!  Sweet boys had a pretty good day. I'm sure going to miss them at work tomorrow.

BBQ

Friday night, G2 watched the LPs so Nick and I could go on a much needed date. We ended up driving by a brand new restaurant called 504 and decided to stop in. It looked cool from the outside and it turned out to be their soft opening. It was mostly a seafood oriented restaurant. Nick and I split their turkey gumbo and then we both ordered chicken dishes. We steered clear of the seafood. Something about being new and so far inland usually does that to us. Anyway, we had a great time catching up and enjoying each other's company. Thank you Grammy and Grandpa for watching the boys!

Celebrating 13 years together!

Saturday I was on call and surprisingly/thankfully, I did not get called in like I usually do!  G2 had stayed at the house and we all got ready and headed out to the new house. Brent and Aubs even met us there! We showed them the house and then headed to a BBQ place. I'll be honest. I normally am not a huge fan of BBQ but this place was AMAZING. Usually when I eat BBQ I feel like I burp it up all day, smell like a BBQ pit and it normally gives me a stomach ache. This place did none of the above! We will definitely be going back!

Auntie Aubie and P

Grandpa and K

Brent and Aubs headed home after lunch and the rest of us headed up to Deloitte University (DU) to see Nick's work. The LPs did so good all day. After our tour, G2 headed back to The Colony ( where Brent and Aubrey live), while we headed back to the Big D.

Grammy and the LPs

We played with the boys for a while and I made homemade baby food. Before we knew it, the boys were bathes and it was bedtime. We got the boys down and then Nick headed to the store to get a few things. Namely WD40 for our fence. Earlier in the morning it decided to stop working for us. Ugh. One more reason I'm so excited to get into our new house!

Playtime!

Butternut squash and pears

Sunday we had a pretty lazy morning. Knox was up very early which meant I was up very early. For some reason - maybe lack of sleep?- both boys were a tad on the cranky side.

Cranky and wanted their paci's.

We introduced pears today! Knox was not a huge fan, while Pierce has yet to meet a morsel of food he doesn't like!!!

Daddy trying to get Knox to try a little more pear

Pierce wanting more pears!

Knox has mastered the art of foot grabbing.
Eyeballing the good stuff

We decided to go on a walk and headed down to Knox street to look at furniture. We ended up walking about 3 miles and found some furniture we are interested in. Some at Restoration Hardware and some at Z gallerie. I was disappointed that Weirs was closed so we will have to do it again!!!

At RH

And this is how I spend a lot of my days....

Hooked up to my pump and feeding my boys. Multitasking at it's very finest! Have I mentioned how much I love my table for two!?!

The boys were exhausted from their walk and crashed after their meal. They were super tired before bed and crashed hard tonight. I'm praying for a better night tonight!

Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!!
