Nick's First Father's Day

Friday, the boys and I played and took a trip to Sonic. It was a pretty low key day where we spent most of the day nursing and eating. We are trying to fatten these sweet boys up!

Friday night, we hired a babysitter and headed to the racetrack with Jeff and Alma (the ones who just got married in Mexico). We had a great time betting on the horse races and then watching the Josh Abbott band perform.

Saturday was the Deloitte University (DU) family picnic. It was a lot of fun. They had food trucks, art stations, pony rides, a petting zoo, a professional soccer player teaching kids soccer tricks, a balloon artist, and more. We took the boys by the petting zoo. They loved looking at all the animals and of course the LPs were a hit with Nick's coworkers. They hammed it
Up as usual!!!

After the picnic, we headed to the house. Our refrigerator was FINALLY being delivered. We ordered it in April. This was the third time they were supposed to deliver it. Very frustrating. But we have it
And it looks amazing!

We played with the boys and then before we knew it, it was time to put them to bed. Nick and I watched a movie and then hit the hay ourselves.

Sunday morning the boys woke up around 5 and I nursed them and put them back down. They didn't wake up again until 8!!! I don't know if they knew it was Fathers Day but it was awesome to sleep in that late!!

We let daddy continue to sleep and went to the play room to play and explore.

Then daddy woke up and we gave him his gifts!

Daddy played with the LPs  while mommy ran to the grocery store. They even took a good nap for daddy!!! I got home and Nick helped me unload the groceries.

We had some more blind people come by and give us an estimate on shutters/blinds. We then had an interior designer come over who is going to help us decorate the house. She is the wife of one of Nick's coworkers. Her name is Mel and I am really excited to be working with her. She is conscious of our budget and she and I have very similar styles. This place will look amazing in a year or so.

I hope Nick had a good Fathers Day. Although we didn't do anything super special, it was special to spend time as a family. Nick is such an amazing daddy. I've watched him grow so much over the last 9 months.  I'm so proud to call him my husband and the father of our children. Nick Job- you are one of a kind and I love you more and more each day. Thank You for being you. And thank you for giving me the greatest gifts of my life. I love doing life with you.

9 months

How can my sweet baby boys already be 9 months old? Time is truly flying.

Monday we had our 9 month check up. The boys did great although both Nick and I got spit up on. That's usually not a big deal but mommy fed the boys spinach, pears and quinoa for breakfast. Talk about stinky...and green.... Oh well. You live you learn! Won't be doing that again.

Pierce weighed in at a whopping 13# 5 oz. Knox weighed in at 14# 5 oz. They are both right on target on their growth chart but Dr. Agrawal does want them to gain some more weight. We are adding a few ounces of milk to their daily intake and focusing less on their food intake.

The LPs also got their blood drawn. There were no shots today. We are all caught up on those. The blood draw was a small prick on their toe and then a tiny vial was filled with their blood. They both did really well. I was impressed. Pierce's took a few minutes but Knox was a good bleeder and his took no time!

After our check up, daddy headed to work while the LPs and I went and got adjusted at COL. Then we headed back to the burbs. We spent the rest of the day snuggling and playing.

Tuesday was a work day for me. Boo. I sure did miss my loves.

This morning we did our 9 month photo shoot.

Sweet P. You are still our mover and shaker. Boy are you going to give mommy and daddy a run for their money! You are quite the explorer. You're so curious and want to see and touch everything for yourself. You love to scoot in circles on your tummy and you put anything in sight, in your mouth. You love to eat! Puffs are your favorite and you scream for more at all times. You grab them by the fistful and try to cram them all in your mouth at once. You are such a happy boy and you scream in delight everywhere we go. You know how to flirt with the ladies and you love to flash your megawatt smile. You're such a joy. We love watching you grow and learn. We love you so much Pierce Alexander.

Knoxamillion! You are such a lover. You love to snuggle and burry your head into the shoulder of whoever is holding you. You are really good at pulling up on anything and everything and once you have accomplished this task, you are so proud of yourself. You're quite the eater and you scream when food isn't in your mouth fast enough. Like P, you love puffs and you are really good at picking each one up and putting them in your mouth. You are a happy, go lucky boy. You flash your gummy smile with some coaxing and everyone loves your crazy, untamable hair. You love to reach out and touch things but are content sitting with your toys too.  We love watching you grow and learn.  We love you so much Knox Collier.

I'm sure the next month will bring many more adventures. We love you Little Presidents. Thank you for bringing us so much joy. We look forward to watching you grow and learn. Xoxoxo

Big boys!

Saturday morning Grammy had to head back to Utah. We spent the morning enjoying a hot cup of joe and playing with the LPs.

It is time to get the boys napping in their cribs. Lena has tried a few times and I think she gives up because they cry. Well I decided the only way to be successful at this was to let them cry it out. Pierce went to sleep almost immediately. Knox on the other hand.... Well he cried for about 10 minutes and then was out. The first nap was about 40 minutes.

Nick took Grammy to the airport and I put the boys down for their second nap around 12:45. Guess who slept for 2 whole hours????

Yay Little Presidents!!!! Way to go!!! I was able to pick up, shower and get ready and read for a while. It was amazing!  Hopefully we can make this the new norm. We shall see!

Daddy got home right as the LPs were waking up. We fed them and then headed to a fabric store to pick out fabric for two chairs we are getting recovered for the living room. The guy was so nice and let us bring home samples home so we can take our time picking out our fabric.

After the fabric store, we headed to The Rec. The Rec is a local work out facility that is for residents of Grapevine. It's brand new! They have a pool, water park, work out classes, and best of all- child care! If I go early, hopefully the boys will have one on one time with the faculty. On the weekends, we can take the boys and play at the kiddie pool. Nick and I are really excited. We need to get back on a workout schedule. Both of us gave gotten off the bandwagon and are looking forward to getting back in a groove.

We then headed to Esparza's. We decided to try and experiment with the boys in high chairs. They do do well at home, we were hoping they'd do the same out and about. And they did great! They are still a little small for them but they did really well.

They even got to try fajita chicken and they liked it!!!

After dinner, we headed to the house and put the boys to bed.  Nick and I watched the Judge and then off to dreamland we went!

Learning the town

As soon as we got home from Mexico, Tutu had to head back to San Antonio. I was sad I didn't get to catch up with her but work was calling her name!

Wednesday, Nick and I got up with the boys and snuggled them close before Nick had to get ready for work.

Noel and I fed the boys and them played. The LPs had gotten up early so they took an early 45 minute nap. I was able to finish up some laundry and finish unpacking.

After the boys second feed, Grammy and I went to explore Grapevine. I am still trying to learn where I am and since this is her old stomping grounds, she was able to help me find grocery stores and shopping places. I think I'm starting to get the hang of things....

As we were driving around, we stopped at a family chiropractor place that specializes in children. I filled out a bunch of stuff on a computer and got the boys adjusted. I wish I had taken pictures but I forgot. Knox did really well at first but then started to cry. Pierce was not a huge fan period but they both did really well.

We then stopped by Southlake Town Center for lunch at Gloria's. The boys did great! Knox slept the first 20 min we were there and Pierce was having himself a good old time with his puffs ( little organic sweet potato and blueberry cereal type things).  The puffs kept them entertained while we ate and enjoyed a delicious jalepeno agave margarita. Yumm!  After we ate, we changed and fed the LPs.

P was so happy!

Next stop, Central Market. Noel doesn't have one close to her in Utah and I am glad she got to go. I love CM. I could spend hours in there. We got stuff for dinner and for the week.

Knox enjoying CM

P napped at CM

Sonic was calling my name. I LOVE having a Sonic so close. It's dangerous. I don't love their food but boy do I love their drinks. Grammy and I both got diet cherry limeades and then off to the casa we went.

We made it home, unloaded the boys and the groceries and then played. The LPs were ready to play. They were pretty tired of their car seats by this point.

Brent came over after work and was able to visit for a bit. We fed the nuggets their dinner - a puch and oatmeal - and then started our bedtime routine. Nick and I out the boys down and then enjoyed a glass of vino with Noel and Brent. After our vino, Brent headed home to Aubs.

Dinner was a huge delicious, uber fresh salad. I inhaled mine it was so yummy!  We enjoyed each other's company and watched a little tv and then it was lights out for us!

Mexico!!!

Currently I am sitting in the airport in Mexico, anxiously awaiting our delayed flight. I need to get home to my babies!!!!

We had a great time with great friends. Alma and Jeff had a beautiful wedding and I hope and pray it was everything they dreamed of and more.

There were about 40 guests and we all got along beautifully. Nick and I bonded really well with their friends John and Maggie. We even went fishing together on Sunday. We thoroughly enjoyed their company and wish they lived in the Dallas/Fort Worth area instead of Houston.

We had great food, lots to drink and LOTS of laughs. It was a great break but boy do we miss our LPs. We are so thankful for Tutu and Grammy. We know they have been spoiled rotten and have gotten lots and lots of attention!!! Personally I cannot wait to give them all the snuggles I can!!!

Here are a few pics from the week. I wish I had gotten more.

The boys with their sign. We miss you mom and dad. Love, Pierce and Knox

Dumping my first of many pumps. It was sad every time I had to pour my milk out.

Fishing time

We found this marlin floating on the surface of the water and had to pick it up. Technically we caught it right?!?

Maggie caught a baricuda. So did John but I didn't get a pic.

P man on the move!

Each day we had a different animal. This one was the coolest.

Our last night.

We had a wonderful time and I wish we could do this every year but I am ready to hold my babies. I'm sure they've grown a foot while we've been gone!!!  Prayers for safe travels. And for our plane to hurry up and get here!

And we are off!

I worked Monday and Tuesday in preparation for our trip to Mexico. We are off to celebrate the marriage of two special people - Jeff and Alma. Nick and I are so excited!!! But boy are we going to miss our LPs! In fact, I'm currently writing this post at the airport and missing my two nuggets like crazy.

They are in the BEST hands! Tutu and Grammy both flew into town to watch the boys. They may be more excited than we are! We are so thankful for them and we can't wait to hear how much they've learned while we are gone.

Pierce has been super vocal lately and is even starting to babble "dadadadada". I need some "mamamamama" to be added in there!!! Knox is a hungry growing boy and was up twice last night. I'll be honest. I was not upset at all. I enjoyed nursing him and snuggling with him. I know my days are numbered. Pretty soon they won't be nursing anymore. I'm not looking forward to that day.

This morning, after putting K down for the second time, I risked waking P up just so I could give him a kiss. These boys have stolen my heart. Tutu and Grammy are the best and I will be looking forward to my daily pic. And maybe a FaceTime or two!!!

Until next Tuesday! Viva la Mexico!!!
